Tipica

A tall coffee variety with good flavor but low yield and disease susceptibility, originated in Ethiopia and traveled to Yemen in the 15th or 16th century. It spread to India and then to various parts of the world, including Europe, the Caribbean, and the Americas.

A unique Nicaraguan heirloom, the reintroduction of Arabica Typica plantations by our dedicated grower, Mr. Orlando Hoyes, has been a much-anticipated endeavor. It took 13 years of nurturing and renovation of plantations for the trees have finally yielded sufficient cherries to create this special micro-lot.

It has a solid traditional coffee flavour, performing well on any brew method.  The acidity is refreshing with a fruit character of melon/papaya flavour that is enjoyable.
